    @DLFimages but …
    @DLFimages but theory and scales are the whole language that needs to be learned if you want to actually speak properly on a conversation instead of throwing random notes everywhere, makes everything easier to do if you know your theory

    @boxingin play what ever sounds good. Am pent is good, C major scale sounds good at the little break down.

    Nice “Backing Track” ! have used several of your tracks and some on “Youtube”! I always get a very good response with them. Whoever plays the keyboard in them is really amazing. Thanks….Joey Vaughan “World Blues Attack”

    Great Backing track!

    The a minor pentatonic, with the blue notes added, does a gret job soloing bass with that! (Sorry about my bad english, and cheers from Argentina)

    @boxingin you can …
    @boxingin you can solo in the A minor pentatonic with its extensions, learn all of your pentatonic scales, with the octaves for each note and you learn where to extend your scale

    Does this mean that I can only solo in A minor while this track is playing? I’m a new guitar player and I’m trying to get the hang of it.

    absolutly true and nice what u said. the mood is master we have to clear our mind to ear the music. bu t we need also the foundation of music for sure and that is a job.god bless u

    I know what you …
    I know what you mean, I was looking around for phrasing ideas for ages, but then I realised you have to hear what you want to play in your head and apply embellishments naturally rather than following a process. I guess rhythm and following a chord progression helps a lot, but I guess its mostly intuition.

    Nice track to play …
    Nice track to play Mark Knopfler kind of phrases !! I just wish you could end it on the Tonic rather than the dominant!!

  14. maverickpwn Says:

    That ain’t how it …
    That ain’t how it works man. If you’re resolving to A and using the same notes as in Aminor; you’re in Aminor. If you’re using terms like lydian to refer to the shapes you’re using or the notes of Aminor. If you want it to sound lydian (in Aminor), you must use A lydian which would be rather uncommon in blues. Nice at times though.

  15. DatWonGuy Says:

    @maverickpwn I know …
    @maverickpwn I know it has the same notes. But when I played over it I used a lot of lydian runs and stuff and it sounded great. I would, of course, resolve on the A however.

  16. maverickpwn Says:

    @DatWonGuy If by …
    @DatWonGuy If by works you mean “has the same notes in as A minor”; You’re right. If however, youre trying to resolve your phrases at F, it’s alight. Bit off though. try mixing A mixolydian with A blues and Am. Also A major.

    First the …
    First the mechanical part: Play/practice ’till your fingers automatically reach for the sounds you hear in your head. Part two: For me it’s about not feeling sorry about myself or “bumming out” when I feel down but can accept it deep down, be creative with it and share it because we all have to learn to cope with the blues. Everybody gets them. It’s a gift to play them.
