    And aside from Eddie Adcock and David Petersen, name off the next 5 bluegrass artists that play J-45s (or ANY Gibson guitar, for that matter).

    What this guy knows …
    What this guy knows about bluegrass guitar could be written in wax pencil on the inside of a matchbook cover without crowding.

    Wouldn’t hurt if he knew how to play a real bluegrass G-run, either. Evidently pull-offs aren’t in his repetoire.

    So, uh, how many songs have one chord in them? It’d help to talk about soloing through chord changes, even if most bluegrass tunes are I-IV-V

    Aaahhh…Blue Grass has to be played on an acoustic and this guy would have done a lot more for his cause if he would have used an acoustic. Still not too bad though.

    Lighten up, Marty’s a great teacher.

    And stop having sex with farm animals.
    Just because It’s part of your family history, don’t make it right !

  22. GonzGunner Says:

    @theaccousticaddict …
    @theaccousticaddict – Forget about jiri1991′s advice, especially about buying a cheap guitar. Buy the best you can afford, and contrary to what he says, you WILL be able to hear the difference between a cheap guitar and a higher priced one. Keep one thing in mind, it is much harder to buy an acoustic guitar than it is an electric. What I look for is, obviously, playing comfort, and as far as tone goes, an acoustic MUST have good tone balance and have richness to boot.

  23. GonzGunner Says:

    Give this good man …
    Give this good man his due! He plays many different styles well and moves effortlessly between them. Plus, his teaching style and easygoing personality lend themselves to picking up what he is playing quite easily. I bookmarked his funk video, and he got me into the groove rather fast. There are no “secrets”, nor is he trying to come off like he is “Bob Bitchin”. He starts off on the basics of the style, then works in the other parts slowly and puts them all together at the end. Kudos to Marty!
